Reviews that say Katy
Plenty of people who say they live in Katy live outside the city itself. Their reviews still carry the name.
A name bigger than the city
Named for the depot of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad ('the Katy'), it is rice country: the first concrete rice driers in Texas were built here in 1944 and still stand, and the city hosts the annual Katy Rice Harvest Festival.
The incorporated city is small, about 27,741 residents, roughly 27 miles west of downtown past the Energy Corridor. But the Katy name covers a much wider spread of subdivisions, many of them unincorporated, across Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties, and that is the name customers write and search.
What a review mentioning Katy does for you
One sentence from a real customer works in several places at once.
In local search
Reviews that mention the place and the service add relevance for searches like a trade plus Katy. They won't beat a closer competitor on distance alone, but they help close the gap.
On your landing page
A Katy visitor who reads three reviews from Katy neighbors stops wondering whether you really work out west.
In your ads
Seller ratings and review snippets lift click-through. A fresh Katy quote in a Facebook or Instagram ad reads like word of mouth, because it is.
Getting them, the honest way
- 1
Ask every customer
Send one short text after the job, to every client, not only the happy ones. Google forbids selective asking.
- 2
Prompt the detail
Invite them to mention the job and the neighborhood, for example: what got fixed and which part of Katy they live in. Never script the words or pay for them.
- 3
Reply by name
Answer each review, mentioning the job and the area naturally.
- 4
Reuse with permission
Put the strongest ones on your Katy page and in your ads, with the customer's okay.

My customers live in unincorporated Katy. Does that count?
For customers and for search, Katy is Katy. Write about the area the way locals do.
